How To Make A 3d Tree For Classroom
Inside: Learn how to make a simple classroom tree using cardboard and tissue paper with this easy tutorial!
There is something about having a classroom tree that can be then warm and inviting.
In my 20 years of instruction toddlers and preschoolers, I've had several different trees adorn a wall in my classroom.
And every time I share whatever photo with one of our classroom copse, teachers react positively and want to know how they, too, tin make one.
Today, I am going to share how my most recent classroom tree was made. Hint: It's actually easy!
Our Elementary Classroom Tree
Concluding twelvemonth was one of my outset in quite awhile not having a classroom tree and I missed information technology tremendously.
The church building that our preschool resides in had washed a remodel of the children'due south wing and repainted all the walls.
While I loved that nosotros were getting a fresh coat of paint, I was very sad to take down the tree that hung and then nicely in our reading surface area.
Once the fresh coat of paint was on the walls, the tree was never replaced.
I missed it terribly. It but felt like something was missing the unabridged year. I loved entering the room each morning existence greeted by that tree!
Fast forward to this summertime.
While I was visiting my classroom I noticed a row of cardboard and newspaper trees fastened to the walls in the church'south hallway, leftover from Vacation Bible School. I knew one of them would be perfect for our classroom! My managing director got the approval for each classroom to have one, if the teachers wanted them. It took me all of ane day to become that tree on our wall.
Thankfully these copse were designed to move pretty easily, thanks to having a cardboard back. (Something I never even idea of while creating previous classroom trees.) I was able to get together it in a timely manner.
Permit me share a simple tutorial with you, in case your classroom is begging for a tree!
How to Brand a Simple Classroom Tree: The Tutorial
Supplies used:
- Cardboard
- Brown lightweight paper
- White or light-green poster board
- Low-cal and dark green tissue paper
- Gum
Creating the Trunk and Branches of the Classroom Tree
Draw (freehand, you can exercise this!) the tree and then cut it out. I'm certain some sort of Xacto knife (or like) was used.
And so take the tan newspaper, wad it a bit for texture, and adhere it to the cardboard using glue. Wadding information technology up a chip is what gives the texture, making information technology look more than like wood.
Now it'south time for the leafy office of the tree.
Cutting out a section of affiche board as shown below.
Next, take the light and nighttime tissue paper and wad them up.
Gum or staple them to the poster board.
Assembling the Classroom Tree to the Wall
Once everything is completely dry, it'due south time to get it upwardly on the wall.
Showtime, take the base of operations of the tree and attach it. We used thumbtacks and it didn't require too many.
Then, add the "leaves". I kept this pretty simple, as y'all can see in the side by side picture.
And that was it!
It's very simple. You lot can alter yours if yous desire "more".

In one case again I have a tree in my classroom!
