David Fincher House Of Cards

Alarm: Spoilers for Business firm of Cards: Flavor 1 absolutely follow!
Concluding Friday Nextflix unveiled all 13 episodes of their big bet foray into the land of high profile original content cosmos - House of Cards. The series follows ruthless Business firm Majority Whip Francis Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and his wife Claire (Robin Wright), who set off on a path of vengeance and ambition when the President elect reneges on his promise to nominate the Congressman for Secretary of State. Kate Mara (American Horror Story) co-stars as Zoe Barnes, a driven young reporter alongside Corey Stoll (Midnight in Paris) as a troubled Congressman. David Fincher (Fight Order, The Social Network), Beau Willimon (The Ides of March) and Eric Roth (Forest Gump, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) executive produce. Fincher also directed the first two episodes.

We've already posted a full season review, but wanted to provide this space for people to sound off on any spoilery or speculative bug related to the show. They may include, but are not limited to, the following:

House of Cards Season 1 Review

  • This isn't so much a spoiler, every bit a key question people are talking well-nigh: Did the direct to photographic camera accost work for you? When? When not then much?
  • Fincher'south aesthetic: Do you think the rest of the directors were able to maintain what Fincher established in the first 2 episodes? Or did yous feel his loss?
  • Congressman's Russo's murder: Did Underwood get completely irredeemable at this point?
  • How practice you think Claire will reply if and when she finds out about the murder?
  • In general, do you observe Congressman Underwood to be a relatable grapheme? Or is he merely too morally insufficient to root for?
  • Claire: Is Claire altruistically motivated in her charitable organization? Or is she simply ambitious and looking to make her mark in the world? What do yous call back of her methods? Both she and her husband are, as they say, able to become things done where others merely stagnate. Is this a instance of the ends justifying the means, or non?
  • Does Claire deserve the lawsuit, and how far will she go to get out of it?
  • Is Gillian Cole just every bit amoral to prevarication in club to sue Claire?
  • Zoe's turn against Underwood: Practice y'all recollect information technology's professionally or personally motivated? Or both? Who do you think volition win out in the end?
  • Would Doug Stamper hurt Rachel Posner (the prostitute) if he had to? How far would he go for Underwood?
  • The ending.
If you read my review, you'll see that I loved and raved most this series. One affair that I did notice somewhat surprising, however, was its conclusion. I loved the image of the Underwood's setting off on a jog every bit a united forepart over again, but was somewhat taken aback by the cliffhanger. If feels to me similar that undercuts the whole idea of the 13-hour flick a chip, which this testify was beingness pitched equally. If the textile is strong enough, which it certainly is here, then there is something to exist said for creating one cohesive and consummate flavour, and trusting that we'll return for the next one.

Having said that, in a world with this much white noise and content/contest, I sympathise wanting to use every tool in your arsenal to maintain viewership. What about you? Did you feel that the serial ended on a strong note? Did you want more of a definitive end point? Or were you happy with the cliffhanger?
